Coffee and I have a long standing and strong relationship. We met in my teen years, when I tried it a few times, with lots of cream and sugar to dull the bitter taste, but that affair was short lived. However, once I entered university and spent long hours studying, writing essays and partying late into the night coffee and I became partners in crime.
There’s that familiarity about a good cup of coffee that I just love. In all the cities I’ve lived in, apartments I’ve called home and jobs I’ve held, I could always count on a cup of coffee to be the constant.
Coffee is the great equalizer, too. People always say. “Let’s meet for a cup of coffee.” Most of my first dates were coffee dates and I’ve met new friends and fellow bloggers for coffee because generally coffee shops are affordable and let you sit there until they close.
For most of my relationship with coffee, we only met in public places. Whether it was a grande bold from Starbucks or a flavoured coffee from Second Cup, I pretty much always had a cup of coffee in hand. That was until I got my Keurig machine, a total game changer. I could now enjoy delicious coffee, that was just as good as the stuff I got at the coffee shop, in the comfort of my own home.
Since my Keurig, I have loved trying all different brands of coffee and was recently introduced to the Canadian coffee company Single Jo. What I instantly loved about Single Jo was how they personalize your coffee experience by creating a coffee profile for you. Fill out a few questions and Single Jo will point you in the direction of some roasts they think you will love. I took the quiz and found out I’m a Visionary.
I had the chance to test out a few blends that Single Jo sent my way. Not only was I over the moon to be sent my own personalized mug (with my twitter handle), but I was excited to see their unique coffee pods. The pods have built in filters, which cuts down on waste and instantly offers a delicious coffee aroma.
My favourite coffee is their Sunrise in Paradise blend. It’s a light/medium roast and I find it perfect for Sunday mornings when I’m having my Netflix marathons.
Are you a fellow coffee lover? Single Jo is having a huge Twitter party on Thursday, June 12th at 9:00PM. Make sure to follow the hashtag #HavaJava. Single Jo will be giving away one Keurig machine, some personalized mugs and of course, some coffee. For more details and to RSVP, click here.
