This Thanksgiving was a traditional one for the most part. My husband and I went over to my parents’ house for a quiet Thanksgiving meal. My mom whiped up all the Thanksgiving fixings (yay for not cooking!) and we had some great quality time chatting and laughing (mostly at Donald Trump during the Presidential Debate).

My family has always been a family that loves games. Each Christmas we purchase a new game to play that year after all the eating is done and our love of games has trickled into other holidays and family get togethers as well.

This year I had a fun surprise for my family. I was tasked with bringing a dessert, so naturally I brought pumpkin pie (is there any other choice when it comes to Thanksgiving?! #PumpkinEverything). Along with it, I brought Gay Lea’s Real Whipped Cream (again, is there any other choice?).

I’m a huge fan of Gay Lea’s Real Whipped Cream and have used it in previous recipes like my Brownie Parfait, Pina Colada Mocktail and, most recently, in my Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino recipe. Why do I love Gay Lea’s Real Whipped Cream so much? First off, I love that Gay Lea uses real ingredients, something that can be hard to find these days. Gay Lea’s Real Whipped Cream is made with real cream and is nut free, Kosher and Halal certified. There’s also a 50% less fat option for those watching their waistlines, or for those like me, who sneak into the fridge a little too often to eat it out of the tube.

Okay back to the fun surprise. I had a new game to try out with the family this year for Thanksgiving and it would be just as fun as it was delicious. It’s Hasbro’s Pie Face Showdown, and yes, it is as awesome as it sounds. This game is really easy so it’s great for kids and adults alike. The objective is to not be the one getting creamed in the face with whipped cream. Players try to launch whipped cream at their opponent’s face by rapidly pushing a button. This is fun on so many levels – annoyed with your sibling? Try and pie them. Have a deep rooted love of whipped cream like me? Than maybe you fake it so you can get pied in the face and enjoy some extra whipped cream. Check out the game in action here.

I have to say the addition of Pie Face Showdown to this year’s Thanksgiving festivities made the whole day. There’s nothing that can get you laughing harder than watching your loved one get covered in whipped cream, while enjoying some quality family time.

Did you create any new Thanksgiving traditions this year?
