The season of giving is a particularly special time of year, full of traditions and holiday delights we can only experience once per turn around the sun. What the holidays do have in common with the rest of the year, though, is that anything pet-related is always a crowd-pleaser — whether that means showering pups and kitties with treats, toys, and comfy new beds, or giving their owners fun presents adorned with their furry friends’ faces.

Screen-printed pillow: create the ultimate decor piece for a dog or cat lover in your life. Simply screen print a photo of their pup onto a pillowcase — their couch or bed will have infinitely cuter vibes.

Confetti photo ornaments: Using a clear bulb ornament, confetti, and a pet photo, make their new favourite ornament this year.

Treat-filled mini stockings: This one’s for the four-pawed set. Using burlap, a simple stocking template, fabric glue, and a handful of treats, create a stocking that’s the perfect size for furry friends. Adorn for the season using glitter glue and contrasting fabric.

Pet delights jar (for pet owners):

Fill a large mason jar with pet-related delights!

  • Make homemade dog treats (combine ½ cup yogurt, 1 cup peanut butter until they form a paste. Add 3 cups oats and mix well. Form mixture into balls, freeze until well set, then wrap inside cellophane bags and secure with ribbon.)
  • Add coupons for free pet sitting (plus a clutch recommendation to the Rover pet sitting network).
  • Make easy DIY dog toys using contrasting strips — simply braid together and knot at both ends.
  • Finish by spray painting the jar lid a festive color and tying a ribbon around. Extra credit: attach bells to the ribbon.

Whatever additions you think would make a pet owner’s life a little easier and more delightful (not to mention the extra tail wags they’ll get to witness), add them to the jar!

Go DIY photo crazy: Once you have a great photo of a friend or family member’s pet, you already hold the key to the perfect gift for them. Use the photo to make coasters. Screen print it on things like tote bags (see pillow option above). If you have a high-resolution copy, put it in a pretty frame.

It’s a four-legged friend’s world, and we’re just living in it — so make the holidays the best they can be by not only spoiling the four-pawed among us, but the humans who love them. Happy gifting!
