Tracey is the creator and writer behind Just a Trace. Her genuine, and often humourous, voice has made her blog a “must read” and her writing has found her on the front page of Thought Catalog and BlogHer, as well as in the glossy pages of Wedding Dreams and Bella magazines.
Tracey’s background is in writing, with an honours degree in English and Cultural Studies from McMaster University. Tracey always had a strong interest in the law and after university studied to become a law clerk. She spent her first three years working in a large Bay Street firm in downtown Toronto, kind of like Suits but not really.
With a successful career, the only thing missing was a relationship. Tracey began a long and hilarious online dating adventure, which led her to meet her husband Mark and to write the wildly popular Adventures in Dating series with her friend Cat.
Eight months into their relationship, Mark got transferred to Ottawa for work. Tracey decided to tag along and that is how Just a Trace was born. Too lazy to constantly update friends and family with the happenings of her new life, Tracey created the blog to share her experiences in a new city. Slowly, the blog grew in readership and Tracey’s love for writing blossomed. She expanded her writing topics and began teaming up with amazing local companies and international brands. Tracey has worked with the National Arts Centre, Fairmont Hotels, Nordik Spa Nature and Nordstrom just to name a few. She is also been a brand ambassador for Lampe Berger Paris, GreenWorks and Gay Lea Foods as well as the official blogger for the National Women’s Show.
Follow along with Tracey and remember: This blog is a true inspiration of her. She’s Just a Trace, nothing more and nothing less.
